The Heart is a modern, mixed use shopping centre and residential complex boasting almost 800 public car park spaces over four floors, with dedicated disabled spaces, parent and child parking, and separate car valet spaces. Disabled drivers are able to park free with a valid blue badge.

The shopping centre includes 60 shops, anchored by Sainsbury's, Next, and Desire by Debenhams, with H&M, River Island, Baby Gap, and Monsoon joining fashion retailers including LK Bennett, Crew, Boden and Hobbs. There are also 10 restaurants and cafés to choose from for a quick bite to eat or a more leisurely respite after a day of shopping.

The Centre principally offers ground floor shopping facilities that provides excellent disabled access, although some shops also trade from a first floor mezzanine level.

There are public toilets with baby changing facilities between Sainsbury's and Desire by Debenhams.

There is also a monthly Farmers’ Market along Nettlefold Walk, six-monthly Italian and French markets, and an annual Food Fayre that showcases the town’s gourmet offering.

The town’s Festival of Light procession and Christmas light switch-on marks the beginning of The Heart’s winter festivities and is a major attraction for the whole Walton-on-Thames community.
