Craft Make by Emily Dawe
It’s official! It’s December and that means it’s time to get that Christmas tree up, decorate your desks and get ready to parrrrrr-tyyyy!
Listen, we’re all about multi-tasking, so when we came up with this lil’ festive idea, we thought: ‘how can we create something that doubles as something else?’
That’s when our Party Hat/Desk Topper Tree was born: by day, it’s a desk decoration, but at night… it ties onto your head to become THE Christmas Party Hat. Everyone makes a jumper, but with this hat, you’re so going to win at Christmas.
So, how do you make it? It’s easy peasy:
1. Google ‘how to make a paper cone.’2. Make said paper cone.
3. Follow our video (lol, if you can) but it’s simple – cut strips of felt or tissue, fold in half, cut like your making tassels and glue gun them round in layers, from base to tip.
4. Garnish with pom poms. Or whatever you fancy – with a glue gun, you can stick anything, but we do advise the help of an adult if you’re not one. (Or if you’re like us and hot glue gun your finger to the table. True story).
Aren’t they just the most amazing things you’ve ever seen? They did look better on our office llamas than us, but we can’t win them all.
Check out our arts & crafts for inspiration on what you’ll do to decorate your own cone!
If you want to share your party hats with us – tag us on Instagram and the most ridiculous wins a £100 voucher.
