Hollywood’s finest descended upon the Dolby theatre yesterday evening for one of the biggest events in the showbiz calendar. The red carpet was adorned with an array of designer gowns. What were the biggest trends of the evening?
Pink, pink and more pink!
The stars turned the Oscars carpet pink! From bright pops of fuchsia to paler blush tones, nudes and baby pinks, pink reigned supreme as the colour of choice. With meters of tulle, and tiered gowns seen throughout the evening, there was some speculation as to whether Killing Eve’s Villanelle might have been the inspiration behind this years pink style memo. There was a move away from figure hugging gowns to voluminous dresses, with ruching and layering winning the award for most favoured shape. We also spotted Marie Kondo, the cleaning guru, in a Jenny Packham (designer at Debenhams) mainline gown.

Big bold and beautiful statement necklaces as seen on Helen Mirren below remained the red carpet accessory of choice. Hair was swept off the face to allow the pieces to shine in all their glory!

Superwoman Style
Caped outfits landed on the red carpet last night offering a ultra chic and modern superwoman esk style. Seen in an array of styles from cape dresses to jumpsuits, with Glenn Close looking like an actual Oscars statuette in her gold metallic finished gown. Melissa MacCarthy wore a monochrome jumpsuit complete with white cape and her friend and co-star Maya Rudolph rocked a pink floral caped number with flowing ruched detailed.
