Forget waiting in the rain for a taxi and spending loads of dosh out on the town this New Year’s Eve. We prefer a good old house party in our own gaff… where we can change into our jammies whenever we want. These are our top tips for entertaining at home.
Making punch may seem like a totally 70s throwback but batch cocktails are actually a genius idea to prep. It’ll mean you can spend more time enjoying the party and less time running back and forth to the kitchen. But by no means whack out a punch bowl. Use a drinks dispenser instead and let your mates serve themselves with some stunner gold rimmed glasses. The prosecco flute is our new absolute favourite.
Turn a chest of drawers into a garnish station and let people get creative with their drinks. Lay out lemons, limes and pomegranate seeds to sprinkle, candy floss to make your prosecco more unicorn, and mixers. When it comes to barware to do the job, this set has everything you need in one. Some gold metal straws and one starry print garnish tray later, and voila!
People are going to want snacks: it’s a given. But like the booze, we want minimal prep and maximum time on the dance floor instead. These nibble plates and napkins are perfect for a serve-yourself spread. And the gold starry pattern is just so appropriate for a midnight soiree. Bring on the New Year!
