5 Beauty Tips for Isolation

With us all now confined to our homes, there is no better time to explore new beauty products and take a moment for that much-needed self-care. Whether you want to look your best on that 9am zoom call, or your usual glam self as you open up HouseParty with your friends, Here are some useful tips and beauty tricks to use!!  

1. HOMEMADE FACE MASKS 

Treat your skin to a homemade face mask 

Combine 1/2 cup hot (not boiling) water and 1/3 cup oats, mix in 2 tablespoons plain yoghurt, 2 tablespoons honey, and 1 small egg white. Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face, and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse with warm water. 

2. MOISTURIZE

Just do it and your skin will be so grateful. Our skin loses water throughout the day which leads to a dry and dehydrated appearance.

3.  AVOID USING A HAIRDRYER, LET HAIR DRY NATURALLY (WHENEVER YOU CAN)

The most superficial layer of the hair and the one that is most in contact with external atmospheric agents is the keratin layer.

This protein is made up of long chains of amino acids. Kreatin layer contains various vitamins and trace elements.

Drying your hair with a dryer or the continuous use of straightener, tongs, electric brushes, etc. will deform the keratin layer due to excessive heat, and this will damage the hair and make it weak.

4. TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUTICLES 

Over the next few weeks, your cuticles are going to grow. If you don’t have cuticle oil in your home use this old trick: take olive oil and put it around your cuticles. It’ll keep them moisturized. Apply at night before bed so they can sit overnight while you’re sleeping

5. HAIR MASK 

To prepare this mask you will need: 1 banana, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 1/2 glass of dark beer. Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl, and stir until smooth. Apply the mixture to your hair for a couple of hours. Then wash it off with warm water. Use this mask once a week, and you’ll see astonishing results very quickly!
