This month’s market is a particularly special one for ‘curry sauce queen’, Anila Vaghela, who is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her company, Anila’s Authentic Sauces. Anila sold her first jar at a sale in Weybridge in 1992 and since then, she has served over two million meals to customers through her range of eight curry sauces. She’s also provided more than three million servings of chutneys and pickles, won numerous Great Taste Awards and her products are now sold in Harrods and John Lewis.
Anila is marking her 25th anniversary by offering customers the opportunity to purchase her products at an exclusive farmers’ market price, plus she will be running a competition to win a cookery class or a hamper full of her delicious products.
Anila’s focus is on creating tasty, healthy curry sauces using only fresh ingredients. All her products are suitable for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs and are free from sugar, dairy and gluten. They contain no onion, garlic, preservatives, additives or artificial colours, so they’re suitable for those on FODMAP or paleo friendly diets too.
There is a whole world of flavours to enjoy at The Heart’s farmers’ market and a visit makes an ideal start to the weekend. After visiting Anila, customers can sample tasty treats from the wide variety of stalls – there is sure to be something to appeal to every appetite. The Heart’s farmers’ market runs every first Saturday of the month.
Centre Manager, Mark Middleton says, “We’re passionate about showcasing local businesses at the farmers’ markets and they don’t come much more local than Anila, as she lives in Walton-on-Thames! A visit to the market has become a staple of my Saturday each month and I’m looking forward to seeing our loyal customers on 3 June, and hopefully welcoming some new faces too.”
