This June, The Heart Shopping Centre in Walton-on-Thames will be hosting an action-packed Family Fun Day in support of One Great Day.
Established in 2014, One Great Day is a UK-wide annual charity fundraising day, raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital and selected local children’s charities. Since it began five years ago One Great Day has raised over £500,000!
In collaboration with Savills UK, who manage The Heart Shopping Centre and are key sponsors of the event, a Family Fun Day will take place on Saturday 22nd June between 10am and 4pm to help raise money for GOSH and Esher based charity Princess Alice Hospice who provide end of life care and support to families and terminally ill children.
Family Fun Day will provide a host of activities for everybody to enjoy. From face painting, glitter tattoos and balloon models to a tombola, dance competition and lucky dip ball pit! As this is a fundraising event, visitors will be asked to donate a minimum of £1 for each activity.
Mark Middleton, Centre Manager at The Heart Shopping Centre comments: “We are very excited to host our first One Great Day event for two very worthwhile charities. The event focuses not just on children but the whole family, giving people a chance to spend some quality time whilst supporting two excellent causes. As well as the activities on offer visitors will have the chance to win lots of prizes from our retailers. All we have to do now is have our fingers crossed for glorious sunshine.”

In addition to the Family Fun Day, The Heart Shopping Centre hosts over 45 popular retail brands including River Island, Next, Baby Gap and H&M. The centre also benefits from a collection of family focused restaurants including Nando’s, Pizza Express, Carluccio’s and Gourmet Burger Kitchen, all of which offer alfresco dining. There are also 800 car parking spaces located within the on-site multi-storey car park.
