Following a Government update earlier this week that face masks will be compulsory when visiting a store from Friday the 24th of July, The Heart Shopping Centre in Walton-on-Thames urges all visitors to the Shopping Centre to wear them for the duration of their visit.
As part of the ongoing precautions to help stall the spread of Coronavirus throughout the UK, the Government has announced that all visitors to shops, hairdressers, banks and other high street businesses must be wearing a mask while indoors. As part of this, The Heart Shopping Centre is adding the requirement to wear face masks while in the covered section of the Centre to the safety precautions already in force.
Mark Middleton, Centre Manager explains: “The Heart is very focused on ensuring that its team members, retailers and visitors are as safe as possible when visiting the Centre and therefore, we welcome the requirement to wear face masks when indoors. Since the gradual reopening of our non-essential stores on the 15th of June, we have seen a steady increase of visitors thanks to the hard work of our retailers and team to reinstall trust and show our customers that the Centre is safe to visit. With almost all of our stores now open, we are focused on doing everything we can to prevent a second wave and another lockdown. For those of you who do not already have a face mask, many of our retailers currently have them in stock. These include Sainsbury’s, Courts Pharmacy, Poundland and, Baby Gap, who have family packs in stock to cater for adults and children. We have also just taken delivery of a PPE vending machine which is located opposite Johnsons Shoes.”
The Heart already has several additional safety measures in place. These include a one-way system, social distancing markers, limitations to the number of visitors in the covered mall and stores at one time and additional hand sanitizer stations at the entrances. Many of its retailers also have additional measures to ensure the safety of everybody.
