Following Government updates earlier this week, gyms across the country will be reopening from Saturday 25th July 2020. After four months of being closed, The Heart Shopping Centre in Walton-on-Thames is happy to announce the reopening of PureGym.
As part of the ongoing safety precautions to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus, PureGym has redefined their cleaning and safety standards with the help of Dr. David Lawrence and Professor Greg Whyte OBE, to provide expert advice on the measures being taken. As part of this, PureGym will be making changes to procedures with TrainSafe, a comprehensive approach to provide a cleaner and safer environment to workout.
TrainSafe includes providing a safe distance with marked spaces with extensive and frequent cleaning. The gym will be deep cleaned every night with high-grade antiviral disinfectant. The Staff Members will also clean every piece of kit and surface throughout the day, from dumbbells to treadmills. In addition, new self-cleaning and hand sanitising stations will be installed so that you can clean your hands and kit before and after use, for added peace of mind. PureGym will be introducing contactless entry with their new QR code scanning via the app. The app can also help you to plan your visit by checking the number of people in the gym to avoid busy times and queues.
It is worth noting that there will be temporarily restricted opening hours of the gym, which can be checked via the app along with a limited number of people within the gym at the same time to reinforce social distancing measures. Booking slots will only be required during busy periods. Otherwise, you can visit whenever you wish. Moreover, the use of changing rooms and showers are permitted, although you are encouraged to arrive and leave in gym kit wherever possible. Lastly, the government has confirmed that it is not compulsory to wear a face mask when you visit PureGym, as there are many measures already in place, however, if you want to do so, you can.
Mark Middleton, Centre Manager adds: “The Heart is pleased with the reopening of PureGym and the extensive measures that they are providing to ensure the safety of its team members and visitors. We are working extremely hard to get things back to normal whilst adapting at the same time to prevent the spread of Coronavirus within Walton-on-Thames. PureGym reopening is a milestone and step closer to achieving a happier and safer environment for all.”
