This December, The Heart Shopping Centre is calling upon its community to help them collect both preloved and new teddy bears that will be donated to a local children’s charity early January in a quest to spread some cheer as we head into 2021.
The campaign, named “The Big Bear Donation” will launch on the 1st of December when a large donation box will be installed within the covered mall outside Clarks Shoes. The Walton-on-Thames community is then invited to drop their bears into the box ready to distribution in January.
Mark Middleton, Centre Manager at The Heart commented: “We all know that 2020 has been a difficult year so, as we head into a fresh new year The Heart is on a quest to spread smiles across the community by donating our bear collection to a local children’s charity which will be selected by our social media audience. In addition, we will be looking to make the chosen charity our partner for 2021 when we have a host of activities, competitions and hopefully events planned for the community of Walton-on-Thames to enjoy.”
Of course, in light of the current pandemic, The Heart Shopping Centre will be following all recommended guidelines to ensure that the donated bears are quarantined for at least 72-hours before being handled and donated.
The Heart Shopping Centre is the central hub for many residents of Walton-on-Thames and surrounding towns and villages for their shopping, leisure and fitness requirements. The Centre benefits from over 40 retailers, a collection of family-friendly restaurants, a 24-hour gym and an 800 space car park.
