THE HEART SHOPPING CENTRE CALLS ON LOCAL COMMUNITY TO SUPPORT EGGCELLENT DONATIONS CAMPAIGN

The Heart Shopping Centre, which is located in the Centre of Walton-on-Thames in Surrey, is calling on the generous nature of its local community as it launches its Eggcellent Donations campaign. 

Following the success of the Shopping Centre’s Christmas Campaign—Walton’s Bear Donation—The Heart launched Eggcellent Donations today, Monday, March 11th. This campaign encourages visitors to the Shopping Centre to donate an Easter Egg or Chocolate Bar that will then be handed over to local food banks. 

Donations can be dropped into the dedicated drop-off box between today and the 25th March, 2024. The box can be found within the covered mall opposite Sports Direct and next to the Centre’s Spring installation that showcases some of the fantastic new fashion arrivals available while stocks last within the Centre. 

Mark Middleton, Centre Manager at The Heart Shopping Centre, commented on this new initiative. ‘Here at The Heart, we are passionate about supporting those who are less fortunate and unable to indulge in treats such as chocolate bars and Easter eggs. We were totally overwhelmed by the generosity of the Walton-on-Thames community over Christmas and hope that we can call on them once more to spread a little job this Easter.’

For those who visit the Centre but haven’t had a chance to purchase a donation, they can donate £3, the average cost of a small Easter egg, by scanning the QR code found on the digital screen, posters, and the donation box. These donations will be automatically sent to The Heart’s chosen charity of 2024, The Children’s Trust. 

As well as this heartwarming initiative, The Heart Shopping Centre is planning some fantastic free events for families during the Easter holidays. These include a free craft workshop for children where they will be able to decorate their own Easter-themed suncatcher or bunny craft to take home on Good Friday - 29th March, and, back by popular demand, free glitter tattoos (of course Easter-themed) taking place on the 12th March. 

Good Friday will also see visitors have the chance to receive a free Easter Egg when they spend a minimum of £20 within the Centre during the hours of 11 am and 2 pm. 

Whether you’re on the hunt for Easter decorations, gifts, or the perfect seasonal outfit, The Heart Shopping Centre has you covered thanks to its collection of 40 retailers, all of whom have a great selection of Easter-related products? Retailers who are ready for Easter include Next, Waterstones, Habitat at Sainsbury’s, Poundland, and Claire’s, to name a few. 

The Heart Shopping Centre will be open during the Easter weekend: 

Good Friday: 11 am - 5 pm

Easter Saturday: 9.30 am - 6 pm

Easter Sunday: Closed

Easter Monday: 11 am - 5 pm
