As part of The Heart Shopping Centre’s Christmas 2024 campaign, they are calling upon the generosity of the Walton-on-Thames community to help those in need this Christmas.
Alongside retailers with the Centre, Walton BID and Walton Charity, a local organisation dedicated to supporting those in need, The Heart will ask for donations of select long-life and festive products, which will be handed to those who rely upon Food Bank donations this Christmas.
Walton Charity has a long history of providing much-needed support to individuals, families, and organisations across Elmbridge. It makes a difference in thousands of lives, with services including food banks, independent living schemes, social housing, individual and community grants, and many more. Last year alone, it raised £790,000 in grants to support our local community. With your donations, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of those facing financial hardship.
The Heart’s Donation Drive will run between the 8th of November and the 3rd of December 2024.
This year, with the cost of living crisis, winter fuel payment cuts, and the added financial pressures of the festive season, your donations are needed more than ever. The Heart Shopping Centre will be collecting a variety of products to create hampers for vulnerable individuals and families. We are gratefully accepting long-life food items, Christmas treats such as cakes and puddings, drinks, and more. Your generosity will not only provide essentials but also add a touch of comfort and joy to those who need it most this Christmas.
A representative from Walton Charity expressed gratitude for the campaign: ‘We are extremely grateful for the generosity of The Heart Shopping Centre and the local community. We understand it is difficult for many, and your donations will make a difference in many lives.’
The campaign will run from November 8th to December 3rd. Donation spots will be throughout the Centre: Waterstones, Vision Express, Hoarding UK, and Walton Library. Simply look out for the floor graphics identifying the drop-off locations and the baskets within the named locations.
Mark Middleton, Centre Manager at The Heart Shopping Centre, commented, ‘We are proud to partner with Walton Charity and help contribute to their incredible work. No matter how small, every donation will positively impact someone’s life. We thank you for your continued support for The Heart Shopping Centre. Our visitors are always incredibly generous, and if last year's charity campaign is anything to go by (the bear donation), those relying upon the Food Bank this December will have plenty to enjoy.’
Join us this November at The Heart Shopping Centre and help spread kindness and cheer. Every contribution, no matter the size, will be warmly appreciated and distributed to those who need it most in our local community.
While you’re kindly dropping off your donations, why not take the opportunity to kickstart the Christmas Shopping? The Heart’s range of 40 retailers has a vast collection of festive treats, from must-have gifts for the whole family to essential party season outfits and everything in between; there is something for everyone.
